How to book your drive test at Deer Park

All appointments at the Deer Park Licence Testing Centre — including the practical drive test — are by appointment only. Here's the official process.

1

Pass your Learner Permit Knowledge Test and Hazard Perception Test

You must have both of these completed before you can book a practical drive test appointment.

2

Book online, by phone, or in person

Book via the VicRoads website (vicroads.vic.gov.au), by calling 13 11 71, or in person at a VicRoads Customer Service Centre.

3

Arrive 15 minutes early with your documents and vehicle

Bring your learner permit and required identification, and arrive in a roadworthy, currently registered and insured vehicle. If you're late, you'll need to rebook and pay the appointment fee again.

4

Get your result immediately

You'll find out whether you've passed straight after your test. If successful, your licence details are updated immediately and your card arrives by mail.

What to bring to your Deer Park drive test

Missing documents means you won't be able to sit your test — double check before you leave home.

  • Your current learner permit card or digital driver's licence.
  • If you've lost or misplaced your permit, bring your original evidence of identity documents instead.
  • A roadworthy, currently registered and insured vehicle for your practical test, unless you're using an instructor's vehicle.
  • Arrive at least 15 minutes before your appointment time.

Am I eligible for a practical drive test?

These are Victoria's standard graduated licensing requirements, set by VicRoads and applying statewide.

Minimum age

You must be at least 18 years old to sit the practical drive test in Victoria.

Learner permit duration

You must have held your learner permit for at least 12 months before booking your drive test.

Logged supervised hours (under 25)

If you're under 25, you must complete and log 120 hours of supervised driving, including at least 10 hours of night driving, in your official logbook.

Logged supervised hours (25 and over)

If you're 25 or older, there's no mandatory logged-hours requirement, though VicRoads still recommends extensive practice before attempting the test.
