Lessons2Drive Driving School is looking for former VicRoads Licence Testing Officers to join our instructor team, wherever you live in Melbourne or regional Victoria. We're expanding, and we want great instructors in every area. Your assessment experience is exactly what learners are searching for — and it's the foundation our whole school is built on.
"Learn from the people who used to test you."
Lessons2Drive was founded in 2022 by Chamitha, an ex-VicRoads Licence Testing Officer who conducted more than 1,800 official drive tests, was involved in drive test route design and assessment at Werribee, and contributed to the training of new testers. Our teaching system is designed around how VicRoads actually assesses — and nobody delivers that better than people who have done the job.
Here, your LTO background isn't a line on a CV. It's the reason students choose you.
We handle the marketing, Google profile, website and enquiries. Learners book you directly through the Lessons2Drive online booking system — no chasing leads.
Full-time, part-time or a few days a week. You control your availability in the booking system and choose the areas near the test centres you know best.
Students pay online when they book. A transparent commission structure means you keep the large majority of every lesson fee — and no invoicing or cash handling.
Your profile highlights your LTO background. You're joining a school positioned on quality over volume — not a lead marketplace racing to the bottom on price.
Our structured lesson system — briefing, demonstration, guided practice, assessment feedback, habit correction — mirrors the assessment mindset you already have.
Talk shop with people who understand the job — including a founder who has trained testers. Shared route knowledge, shared standards, real support.
Many former testers haven't needed one before. To teach unlicensed drivers in Victoria, you'll need a Driving Instructor Authority, which requires completing the Certificate IV course through a registered training organisation, plus police, driver history and medical checks.
Your assessment background gives you a big head start. Get in touch anyway — we're happy to talk you through the pathway and keep a place in mind for you.
Everywhere in Victoria. Tell us the suburbs and test centres you know best, and we'll build your service area around you.
Send us a short note about your LTO background and the areas you'd like to cover.
A relaxed conversation with Chamitha — tester to tester — about fit, hours and expectations.
We walk you through the Lessons2Drive lesson system and how we brief, coach and give feedback.
Your instructor profile is added to our booking system with your photo, bio and service areas.
Students book you online. You teach. Payments are handled for you.
Our instructors are already teaching students across Melbourne, and we're growing into new areas. You can see their profiles and availability on our booking system.
Meet the InstructorsInstructors work with Lessons2Drive as independent contractors under an agent and commission model. You run your own diary through our booking system, and we provide the brand, marketing, booking platform and payment processing.
